Winter 1985. Oliver (13) and his family are forced to move away for the fourth time in the last decade in the umpteenth attempt to remake their lives. Now they must come back to the only shelter they have: the house of grandfather Gabriel in the remotest and most deprived corner of Andalucía, el Campo de Gibraltar.

All these changes have transformed Oliver into a nervous, immature kid full of tics. In Algeciras, his parents argue more than ever, doesn’t fit well with the kids and with the school and, to make things worse, they will be evicted if his father does not find a job soon.

Oliver, used to seek comfort in his imagination, turns to his grandfather looking for help. Gabriel, called by everyone “the Loopy”, assured him that they are all jinxed because the starts aligned against them thousands of years ago; but now he has come up with a plan that will forever put an end to their bad luck: taking advantage of the visit of Halley’s Comet to Earth, they will build a “rocket-car” that will let them follow its tail and change the direction of the Universe. And Oliver is the only person able to help him find the last piece of the device. In his adventure to help his grandfather, Oliver will know the meaning of true friendship, first love, tolerance and, specially, he will learn to not only understand the adult’s world, but also to face the complex problems of daily life.

Synopsis :

Les jeunes violonistes et amies Marie Wendel et Kim Cheng sont en finale du concours Reine Elisabeth en Belgique. Une fausse note et la carrière de Marie s’arrête, tandis que Kim s’envole vers le succès.

Déçue, Marie végète dans le souvenir de sa sœur Clara, pianiste, décédée dans un accident de voiture. Avec elle, Marie formait Alter Duo, un ensemble fusionnel. Il faudra le flair de Max Kieffer, un agent, pour la relancer aux côtés de Luigi Faena, un pianiste en quête d’une nouvelle carrière. Orion&Sirius sera leur duo parfait jusqu’à sa disparition volontaire.

Comment Marie pourra-t-elle se reconstruire ? Une seule solution : partir sur les traces de Luigi dans l’Italie de sa jeunesse. Là-bas, avec l’aide de Francesco, un ami de Luigi, elle affrontera ce qu’elle ne voulait pas voir : l’arthrose de Luigi.

Marie veut alors ranger son violon et oublier son Alter Duo. A moins que Kim ne reprenne la partition de leur amitié pour lui montrer une nouvelle façon de vivre la musique.

Synopsis :

En 1942, l’érudit et philosophe marocain Adam Ben Mohamed, dirige en pleine occupation, la mosquée de Paris.

La sœur Maria au doux visage et aux traits irradiants, œuvre au couvent Notre-Dame. Fort engagée, elle aide Adam ainsi que José, son ami sépharade et résistant, ayant combattu en Espagne contre les franquistes. Sa fille Carmen, lumineuse et brillante les a rejoint et dirige les opérations.

Le recteur et ses amis vont héberger dans la mosquée, plusieurs aviateurs anglais et de nombreux réfugiés juifs persécutés, dont le rabbin Samuel Kahn.

Au Maroc, le Sultan (feu) Mohamed V convie la presse et informe le gouvernement de Vichy que la minorité juive de son pays (250 000 personnes) ne portera pas l’étoile jaune et sera protégée comme tous les citoyens marocains …

Adam muni du document officiel du sultan décide de rencontrer le maire de Paris, mais sans résultats…

Le commandant Dietrich assoiffé de littérature et qui dirige la partie Est de la ville se lie d’amitié avec Adam et lui propose de donner des cours de philosophie aux officiers de la Wehrmacht. Le recteur de la mosquée accepte…

L’Etat-major SS découvre très vite que ce lieu sacré est devenu un véritable sanctuaire de la résistance.

Le commandant Dietrich protège le recteur, mais sous pression, il doit fermer la mosquée. Adam organise la fuite des réfugiés et aviateurs à travers les égouts
parisiens, mais peine à trouver de faux papiers, le nombre de personnes est beaucoup trop élevé…

La tension est à son comble.

Une relation très forte s’est installée entre le recteur et l’officier. Mais cette dernière arrive à ses limites.

A la veille du ramadan, les SS ordonnent d’encercler tout le quartier, la mosquée
est assiégée. Adam doit désormais sauver la vie de plus de 770 personnes…
